Neurofeedback
A non-invasive, painless, and innovative way to retrain your brain for optimal health and functioning without medication.
What is Neurofeedback?
As the name "neurofeedback" suggests, this method simply gives the brain information about how it's functioning, including how your brain's neurons (nerves) are communicating with each other. Thanks to the discovery of neuroplasticity, we know our brains have vast and impressive capability for healing and changing.
When the brain receives information that it is not optimally functioning, through brainwave activity reported in neurofeedback, it corrects itself to improve neural firing and strengthen neural pathways for a healthier brain.
This approach to brain health is fun, engaging, and incredibly effective with lasting results.
How does Neurofeedback work?
First, we gather information about your brain's functioning and brainwave activity via Brain Mapping or QEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram). A thorough assessment helps us devise a treatment program specifically tailored to what your brain needs to improve functioning in targeted areas determined to need a little help reaching balance.
Next, you simply watch a movie or play a selected video game while an EEG provides feedback to your brain. The screen becomes less visible when your brain is not at optimal functioning, and becomes clearer as your brain automatically corrects itself. The number of neurofeedback training sessions depends on needs determined by QEEG in Brain Mapping appointment.
